# Hajime no Ippo Watch Order Also known as: Fighting Spirit, Hajime no Ippo: The Fighting! Source: https://www.animechrono.com/franchise/hajime-no-ippo Last updated: 2026-10-30 Last checked against current sources: 2026-10-30 AnimeChrono watch orders put every season, movie, OVA, ONA and special in chronological story order, mark optional entries, say where to start, and are maintained by signed-in fans with versioned edits that can be reverted (6 entries in this order). The Hajime no Ippo watch order runs in release order, but two 2003 specials sit between the first and second TV series and are easy to miss. Start with Hajime no Ippo: The Fighting!, Episodes 1-75, in which bullied high schooler Ippo Makunouchi joins the Kamogawa Boxing Gym and works his way to the featherweight title. Champion Road, a feature-length TV special, picks up right after episode 75 with his first title defense, and the Mashiba vs. Kimura OVA follows Kimura's title fight. Both are canon, so watch them before New Challenger, Episodes 1-26 (2009), which continues the story. Rising, Episodes 1-25 (2013-2014), is the latest anime and stops partway through the manga. Boxer's Fist, a short DVD special about how Takamura started boxing, is optional. Watching in this order keeps every fight and rivalry in sequence. ## Recommended first watch Watch The Fighting! (2000-2002, 75 episodes), Champion Road (2003 special), Mashiba vs. Kimura (2003 OVA), New Challenger (2009, 26 episodes), then Rising (2013-2014, 25 episodes). Boxer's Fist is an optional DVD extra. Rising ends mid-story; the manga continues beyond it. ## Start here Start with Episodes 1-75 (Hajime no Ippo: The Fighting!). 1 entry is optional: Hajime no Ippo: Boxer's Fist.
