# Spice and Wolf Watch Order Also known as: Ookami to Koushinryou, Spice and Wolf: Merchant Meets the Wise Wolf, Spice and Wolf (2024) Source: https://www.animechrono.com/franchise/spice-and-wolf Last updated: 2026-10-31 Last checked against current sources: 2026-10-30 AnimeChrono watch orders put every season, movie, OVA, ONA and special in chronological story order, mark optional entries, say where to start, and are maintained by signed-in fans with versioned edits that can be reverted (4 entries in this order). The Spice and Wolf watch order has two paths, because the light novels were adapted twice. The original path is Season 1 (2008, Episodes 1-13), where the traveling merchant Kraft Lawrence finds Holo the Wisewolf in his cart and agrees to take her north. Next comes Wolf and the Amber Melancholy, a single 2009 OVA that works as episode 0 of Season 2, then Spice and Wolf II (Episodes 1-12). Together they adapt novels 1-3 and 5. The second path is the 2024 remake, Spice and Wolf: Merchant Meets the Wise Wolf (Episodes 1-25), which starts over from volume 1 and covers volumes 1-4, including the Tereo story the original skipped. Watch one path: the remake is the fuller, more faithful version, while the original has a warmer, older style and goes on to volume 5. A second season of the remake is announced for 2027 and will be added once it has a date. ## Recommended first watch New viewers can start with either path. The 2024 remake (25 episodes) is the most faithful and complete start; the 2008 original is Season 1 (13), the Amber Melancholy OVA, then Season 2 (12). If you watched the remake, Season 2 of the original (episodes 7-12, Lenos) already covers the next novel. ## Start here Start with Episodes 1-13 (Spice and Wolf (2008)). 1 entry is optional: Episodes 1-25 (Spice and Wolf: Merchant Meets the Wise Wolf (2024)).
