Getter Robo Watch Order

Also known as Getter Robo G, Getter Robo Go, Getter Robo Armageddon, Change!! Getter Robo, Change!! Getter Robo: The Last Day of the World, Shin Getter Robo, New Getter Robo, Shin Getter Robo vs Neo Getter Robo, Getter Robo Arc, Getter Robo Saga
Where to start Getter Robo: begin with Getter Robo, episode 1 (1974), then Getter Robo G, for the classic; or start with the Change!! Getter Robo: Armageddon OVA (1998) for the modern take. This Getter Robo watch order groups the franchise by continuity. The Toei TV run is Getter Robo (Episodes 1-51) and its sequel Getter Robo G (Episodes 1-39). Getter Robo Go (Episodes 1-50) is a 1991 reboot with a new team and is optional. The OVAs do not continue the TV shows and do not share one timeline: Armageddon (Episodes 1-13) is a stand-alone apocalyptic story, Shin Getter Robo vs Neo Getter Robo (Episodes 1-4) is an optional side continuity, and New Getter Robo (Episodes 1-13) retells the origin. Getter Robo Arc (Episodes 1-13, 2021) adapts Ken Ishikawa's final manga and stands on its own; the OVAs make good preparation. Release order is the same as this list.

How this order works
AnimeChrono watch orders put every season, movie, OVA, ONA and special for a franchise in chronological story order, the order the events happen. When an OVA or movie takes place partway through a season, the episode range is split so it sits where it belongs. Entries you can skip are marked optional, and each order says where to start. Release order, sorted by air date, is a secondary view once every entry has a date. The orders began as a hand-curated set, and episode counts and air dates come from AniList. Fans maintain the orders from there. Any signed-in user can edit one. Edits from trusted contributors go live right away and the rest are reviewed first. Every change is versioned and can be reverted, and each order shows when it was last updated and last checked.
