Also known as Love Live! School Idol Project, Love Live! Sunshine!!, Love Live! Nijigasaki High School Idol Club, Love Live! Superstar!!, Love Live! Hasunosora, Yohane the Parhelion
The Love Live! watch order is really five separate stories, one per school idol group, so each path can be watched on its own. Start with μ's in Love Live! School Idol Project: Season 1 (Episodes 1-13), Season 2 (Episodes 1-13) and Love Live! The School Idol Movie, which ends their story; a short 2013 OVA is optional. Love Live! Sunshine!! follows Aqours, a group inspired by μ's: two 13-episode seasons, then the film Over the Rainbow; Yohane the Parhelion is an optional alternate-world spin-off with the same cast. Love Live! Nijigasaki High School Idol Club (two 13-episode seasons, the NEXT SKY OVA and the Finale films, Chapters 1-2) is a separate story about solo idols; Finale Chapter 3 is due in February 2027. Love Live! Superstar!! follows Liella! over three 12-episode seasons. Love Live! Hasunosora's first anime is the 2026 film Bloom Garden Party, and its TV series, due January 2027, will be added once it airs. Shorts such as NIJIYON and Liella no Uta are left out.

How this order works
AnimeChrono watch orders put every season, movie, OVA, ONA and special for a franchise in chronological story order, the order the events happen. When an OVA or movie takes place partway through a season, the episode range is split so it sits where it belongs. Entries you can skip are marked optional, and each order says where to start. Release order, sorted by air date, is a secondary view once every entry has a date. The orders began as a hand-curated set, and episode counts and air dates come from AniList. Fans maintain the orders from there. Any signed-in user can edit one. Edits from trusted contributors go live right away and the rest are reviewed first. Every change is versioned and can be reverted, and each order shows when it was last updated and last checked.

Love Live! watch order FAQ
What order should I watch Love Live! in?
Start with μ's: School Idol Project (13 + 13 episodes) and The School Idol Movie. Sunshine!! (Aqours) is set after it and best watched next. Nijigasaki, Superstar!! (Liella!) and Hasunosora are separate stories you can start any time. Yohane and the μ's OVA are optional.
Do I need to watch Love Live! School Idol Project before Sunshine!!?
It helps. Sunshine!! stands on its own, but Aqours is inspired by μ's and the story refers to them, so watching School Idol Project and its movie first adds context.
Are Nijigasaki, Superstar!! and Hasunosora connected to the other Love Live! series?
Not directly. Each follows a new group at a new school, so you can start them without the earlier series. Release order is the simplest way to watch everything.
Is Yohane the Parhelion canon?
It is an alternate-world spin-off with the Aqours cast, not a sequel to Sunshine!!. It is optional and best after the Aqours story.
How many Nijigasaki Finale movies are there?
Three. Chapter 1 came out in 2024 and Chapter 2 in November 2025; Chapter 3 is due in February 2027 and will be added once it is released.
