Also known as To LOVE-Ru, To Love-Ru, ToLoveRu, Motto To Love Ru, To Love Ru Darkness, To Love Ru Darkness 2nd
Where to start To Love Ru: begin with the 2008 To Love Ru TV series, episode 1, then Motto To Love Ru (2010), To Love Ru Darkness (2012) and Darkness 2nd (2015). This To Love Ru watch order follows release order, which matches the story. Rito Yuuki's life turns upside down when Lala, princess of planet Deviluke, lands in his bathtub. To Love Ru (Episodes 1-26) adapts the first manga loosely, Motto To Love Ru (Episodes 1-12) follows it more closely, and Darkness (Episodes 1-12) and Darkness 2nd (Episodes 1-12) adapt the sequel manga, To Love Ru Darkness. The OVAs released with manga volumes add extra chapters and are optional; the Darkness OVA episodes are listed after Darkness because they are set alongside it, even though the first came out two months earlier. This is an ecchi comedy with fan service throughout.

How this order works
AnimeChrono watch orders put every season, movie, OVA, ONA and special for a franchise in chronological story order, the order the events happen. When an OVA or movie takes place partway through a season, the episode range is split so it sits where it belongs. Entries you can skip are marked optional, and each order says where to start. Release order, sorted by air date, is a secondary view once every entry has a date. The orders began as a hand-curated set, and episode counts and air dates come from AniList. Fans maintain the orders from there. Any signed-in user can edit one. Edits from trusted contributors go live right away and the rest are reviewed first. Every change is versioned and can be reverted, and each order shows when it was last updated and last checked.
