Spice and Wolf Watch Order
4 entries · · community-maintained
Also known as Ookami to Koushinryou, Spice and Wolf: Merchant Meets the Wise Wolf, Spice and Wolf (2024)
The Spice and Wolf watch order has two paths, because the light novels were adapted twice. The original path is Season 1 (2008, Episodes 1-13), where the traveling merchant Kraft Lawrence finds Holo the Wisewolf in his cart and agrees to take her north. Next comes Wolf and the Amber Melancholy, a single 2009 OVA that works as episode 0 of Season 2, then Spice and Wolf II (Episodes 1-12). Together they adapt novels 1-3 and 5. The second path is the 2024 remake, Spice and Wolf: Merchant Meets the Wise Wolf (Episodes 1-25), which starts over from volume 1 and covers volumes 1-4, including the Tereo story the original skipped. Watch one path: the remake is the fuller, more faithful version, while the original has a warmer, older style and goes on to volume 5. A second season of the remake is announced for 2027 and will be added once it has a date.

How this order works
AnimeChrono watch orders put every season, movie, OVA, ONA and special for a franchise in chronological story order, the order the events happen. When an OVA or movie takes place partway through a season, the episode range is split so it sits where it belongs. Entries you can skip are marked optional, and each order says where to start. Release order, sorted by air date, is a secondary view once every entry has a date. The orders began as a hand-curated set, and episode counts and air dates come from AniList. Fans maintain the orders from there. Any signed-in user can edit one. Edits from trusted contributors go live right away and the rest are reviewed first. Every change is versioned and can be reverted, and each order shows when it was last updated and last checked.
